24 weeks and bed rest!

Well, I woke up around 3:00am with pretty bad stomach pains and backache. I could barely bend over to put my shoes on this morning because it hurt so bad. I went into work and decided if it was not better by the time my doctor opened, I would call. B was having a one man dance party this morning so I was almost positive he was not affected by this pain. My doctor told me to immediately come in. I was diagnosed with preterm contractions and put on strict bedrest until Monday :( I can only get up to take a hot bath and go to the bathroom. Little man's heart rate was great and she did a couple of tests that showed I should not be going into labor within the next 2 weeks, as long as I take it easy. She wants to be extra cautious since my surgery this summer can cause preterm labor. I am actually measuring 25 weeks, so due date might be moved up a week. Now it's time to sit on my butt and be bored all weekend :( I already have chinese and mexican takeout on the way! lol

New bedroom!

We had a good weekend! Friday night I met hubby for some Chinese food after work and we had a quiet night to ourselves! That crazy storm woke us up at 4:30 on Saturday. We laid on the couch and watched the lightening before baby B decided he was starving. I dragged Adam to Denny's at 6:00am! lol We beat the crowd that's for sure! We spent all weekend just running some errands around town and same thing Sunday. Sunday I decided to stop into Ashley Furniture and forgot about Monday being President's Day so they were have an awesome sale! We picked out a new King bedroom set, a new coffee table and end table! Our bedroom set will be delivered this Saturday and the living room set will be delivered the following weekend! And with delivery - they put all the furniture together for you! Thank the lord!

Yesterday I booked my maternity sessions with Studio Ainsley Photography! I found them just doing random searches and when I saw that name -Ainsley I knew I had to check them out! (My cousin Greg just had a baby girl and her name is Ainsley) I go in for my consultation at the end of March - maternity photos will be the weekend before my baby shower - April 14th and Bennett's newborns will be June 20th - if he comes on time!

23 weeks!

 

How Far Along: 23 weeks!

Size of baby:   A little over a pound, 1 foot long. Fact for the day - Bennett will double his weight this week to 2lbs! Oh boy!

Gender: BOY

Maternity Clothes: Yes - I WILL make time to go shopping this weekend!

Weight gain: 10lbs

Movement: Every day his kicks get more and more strong. I sit at work all day and watch my belly move all around!

Sleep: He woke me up at 4:30 this morning, so I slept a little better than the past few days!

Symptoms: TUMS are my best friend, my back aches have made a come back this week, morning sickness.. still! And uncontrollably talking to my belly when he kicks :)

Cravings: Nothing on the list for this week

 Best moment this week: Hubby FINALLY getting to see my belly move all around! He thought I was going crazy! The other night wherever Adam put his hand on my belly, baby Bennett would kick his hand. Our newest nightly ritual is laying in bed or on the couch and watching Bennett dance all around and talk to him :) I wouldn't trade it for the world!

She said yes!!

It took everything I had to keep my mouth quiet until my brother asked the big question.. and she said YES! If is official! I will be gaining another amazing sister in law and Bennett will be getting another amazing aunt this year!

My brother e-mailed me a picture of the ring this weekend and I knew there would be no way she would be able to say no to him with that big ole gorgeous rock!!

How it went down -

 my brother being a sports broadcaster for ABC in Corpus Christi knows some people! He was able to have Whataburger Stadium all to himself. My parents and her parents were there waiting at the end of the tunnel that leads to the field. She was blindfolded so she had no idea where she was going! He had their song playing throughout the stadium and on the Big Screen had a picture of them and written under the picture it said "Krystal will you marry me?" She was so shocked to see her and my parents there she didn't even notice the screen at first! She started crying and said yes of course! My brother had his coworker/friend there to film and take pictures. Hopefully I will get to see some today after my brother edits the footage!

He sent me a text last night that they are leaning towards a December wedding near Christmas (They have to work around football season because he works all those crazy hours) We are looking forward to taking a mini vacation this winter with Bennett in tow! :)

Valentines Day/Weekend!

Friday my sweet and loving husband surprised me with tickets to go see The Vow!! I was so excited because I am such a sap for any chick flick, but this was from the creators from The NoteBook - My ALL time favorite! He had already ordered tickets since it was opening night (Good thing because it was completely sold out) We went to City Center so we could have dinner and watch the movie at the same time. Dinner and dessert were both yummy!

Saturday we went out to eat at the somewhat new Chuy's in Katy. It was super good, but it made me so SICK! I had morning sickness all afternoon and night. Ate some soup around 8 and called it night.. so much for being productive this weekend! Yesterday I helped my parents pick out a new laptop and set it up for them. We are working on getting my dad computer savvy. His health has declined a whole lot this year. He was only able to work about a day a week (for only a few hours) before getting too worn out. He officially retired 2 weeks ago and is already going crazy being stuck at home all day. I was completely shocked when he said he wanted to learn how to use a computer. Baby steps though, yesterday he learned how to turn the computer on and off! I am sure he will have a facebook in no time! LOL He even wants to SKYPE! I don't even know how to do that. He wants to learn before baby Bennett gets here so we can have skype dates a couple of nights a week,

My aunt and I have decided on 2 dates for the shower in later April. Now just have to see which one works best for everyone! It will be here before I know it! I have been on Etsy like crazy lately looking and buying some newborn props/outfits for Bennett's newborn pictures! I have it down 2 photographers that I really like. I am not sure how I will decide between the two :(

Daddy got his valentines day present early - He loved his camo diaper bag, camo bottles, "bubba" teeth pacis and  Bennett's first fishing shirt! Hope everyone has a great week, I know our little family will! :)

22 weeks!!

I typed out this WHOLE blog and my computer stopped responding! Grr.. so here we go again!

How Far Along: 22 weeks a long! I will be starting my 6th month of pregnancy next Tuesday!

Size of baby:  Roughly 11 inches long and 1lb

Gender: boy boy boy

Maternity Clothes: I will make time to go shopping this weekend. My old "comfy" t-shirts I wear around the house are way too small for me now :(

Weight gain: 8-10lbs

Movement: He had the hiccups all morning and is kicking away right now

Sleep: Better than last week, still have to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle night

Symptoms: Heartburn, morning sickness, swollen fingers, back aches, dizzy spells, hot flashes, I think I have had 1 or 2 small braxton hicks contractions

Cravings: Nothing too extreme. As long as we have Kosher pickles, mommy is happy

 Best moment this week: When I was sick in bed 2 days ago I would say Bennett's name and he would kick me! Also, hubby's newest nickname for me is "Al" (Bundy). I make noises when I get up and sit down and I always have my hand on my belly waiting to feel him kick!

The food was delish! I picked up 2 dozen enchiladas from Lupe's. Hubby smoked a pork butt, and we broke out all the deer sausage Shawn gave us - (I couldn't try any but heard it was good) Natalie made mini pizzas and chicken wing dip and Megan made some delish guac!

Hubby sipping on his homemade beer he made. This was his first batch. We will work on batch 2 this weekend. This next one will take 6 months to make!

Down for the count

It is safe to say I will be one of those few not so lucky mommies to be who has morning sickness her whole pregnancy. I usually get sick about 2-3 times a week. It is definitely an improvement from what I had in the beginning but still a pain. Monday night I got so sick from eating potato, couldn't keep down water Tuesday morning, stayed home, couldn't keep soup down and finally was able to keep down pickles and ice cream! Hubby worked real late and came home and made dinner and I was able to keep that down too :) I am feeling much better today minus my hot flashes that hit me out of nowhere! I have to be careful when I stand up too quickly and overwork myself. I get pretty dizzy. Oh the joys of pregnancy! I know it will all be worth it when I get to have that baby boy in my arms! :) While I was home sick yesterday Bennett was on a kicking spree. Needless to say I did not get much rest! Today I thought I would calculate his kick count. (I know I don't need to really monitor this until week 28) The Bump says as long as the baby kicks 10 times every 2 hours he is good. Bennett kicked me 15 times in 45 minutes lol Adam says he is claustrophobic and ready to get out!

Last night we watched that new show The River. I wasn't even really that interested in watching it, I had just seen the previews only 50 million times so I thought I would see what it was about. It was OK, don't think I could see myself getting into it too much. I will catch up on New Girl tonight!! I am obsessed with Zoey Deschanel!

Can't stop shopping..

for baby B!! Mommy almost has his closet FULL to the brim! My friend's baby who is 6 weeks old grew out of newborn clothes within 3 weeks so I am now purchasing 0-3 month and 6 month clothing! I know, I know, I will get tons of clothes for the shower. I think I will put on the invites "Please no clothes, mommy is an impulse shopper and doesn't have any more room for clothes!" :) I am thinking of having my shower beginning to mid April. My Aunt Linda who threw my bridal shower already requested that she wants to host it. She moved to this AMAZING neighborhood called Royal Oaks and will use their country club. (It is LOVELY there!)

While out shopping I found these amazing little shoes - Now only if they were Under Armor and Neon Orange they would match Daddy's shoes! I couldn't resist buying these!

We had a great Saturday. I woke up ast 5:30 with that crazy storm. I opened up the blinds and laid on the couch with my fur kiddos Sasha and Leo and watched the lightning show! By 10:00am the whole house was clean! We had a movie night Saturday and rented Paranormal Activity 3. I hated it! It scaed me to death! Everytime I had to go to the bathroom I made Adam go ahead of me and turn on all the lights. lol Yesterday we had some friends over for the first time in our new home. I picked up 2 dozen enchiladas from Lupe's and hubby smoked a pork butt and made sliders. They were delish! We had a great time and everyone LOVED our home! :)

I bought a new counter height kitchen table yesterday and LOVE IT! I figured we could put the high chair right up to the table and baby B can eat dinner with us. (Or mommy can feed him while eating at the table too)

That's it for now! I will post my 22 week update on Thursday. Gosh, this pregnancy is flying by and going by so slow at the same time!

Babymoon??

Yes please! I had NEVER heard of the term babymoon before, until of course, we got preggo! A babymoon is somewhat like your honeymoon, of course somewhere close to home and not out of state. It is considered your last get away before baby comes and you are supposed to go after your 1st trimester and before your 3rd trimester. My third trimister will be here in less than a month and a half so I thought it was time I needed to plan a mini get away, or our "babymoon"! :)

This week I booked hubby and I a room on the San Antonio River Walk. (Sort of his Valentine's Day present from me). Here is the hotel I picked -

We are going up early on Saturday morning and touring the Alamo early! I have not toured the Alamo in YEARS. I was probably 4 or 5 when we went so I vaguely remember anything. I went maybe 6 years ago, but the tour was already closed for the day so I missed it.

After that we will probably do a little more site seeing before checking in our hotel and getting ready for the night. Since our hotel is on the river walk, I want to also eat dinner there! I love the ambiance of the riverwalk. The people watching, the boats going by and the yummy food!

After that I want to head over to market square! I LOVE Market Square. The music is always awesome and I just love all the shops! We will hang out the rest of the night there before heading back to our hotel :)

Sunday morning, before sadly returning home I want to stop by the Outlet Mall in San Marcos and go to Natural Bridfe Wildlife Ranch. I thought about Natural Bridge Caverns.. but I just don't think I will be able to hike through a cave. I have done both quite a few times and both places are fun!

This picture is very similar to my photos I have of Natural Bridge Caverns. I love the zebras! The Emus and Ostriches... not so much! They scare me to death!

Anywho, it shall be a fun, short get away with just me and my hubby! I cannot wait! :)

Have you heard of "Babymoons" before?

21 weeks!!

How Far Along: 21 weeks! Almost 5 months along!

Size of baby:  10.8 inches long and weighing in at almost 1 pound!

Gender: boy boy boy

Maternity Clothes: It is definitely time I go shopping. I can barely see my feet when standing now!

Weight gain: 8lbs, definitely happy with that!

Movement: He's kicking away right now!

Sleep: Bennett is getting me ready for his arrival. I have had zero sleep this week! I  think it is time I invest in one of those pregnancy pillows

Symptoms: Heartburn from EVERYTHING, zero sleep, restless legs, itchy belly

Cravings: Grapefruit, icecream and pickles!

 Best moment this week: Bennett's kicks have been getting much stronger this week! He was on his best behavior last night and actually let Daddy feel him kick for the first time! (Typically everytime Adam feels my belly, Bennett immediately stops kicking!)

 

No picture today. This no sleep is not a good look for me! This weekend I plan to devote Saturday to cleaning and filing paperwork for our home and Bennett! I have all this paperwork that is just stacking up and driving me crazy. Hopefully we also have time to file taxes! Sunday we are having a super bowl party at our house! (I am just looking forward to the food) :)
