Finally!

Well, we find out Wednesday if we got the original home we put an offer on.. needless to say, we will NEVER try to purchase a foreclosure or short sale home again! It has been a nightmare going through the bank!

On the bright side, we have FINALLY picked our back up plan! We looked at 2 houses yesterday. We had to drive out to Richmond to look at one floor plan because our neighborhood didn't have it. My mother in law and her husband Ray came with us, we had a blast! It came down to 2 floor plans.. one was much bigger but we HATED the floor plan so we decided to go look at the smaller one, and we fell in love! We will get $25,000 in free upgrades, so we can design it any way we want! We can definitely see us living there for at least 7 years, and purchasing a larger home after that! We would move in at the end of December. We are still hoping the bank comes back and accepts our offer this week, but we are also in love with the idea of building something the way WE want it! Here is the sketch of the home...

Hanging in there...

Well! We are almost the the point where our contract on the house will be terminated (next week). The bank is trying to let use the old appraisal instead of having to issue a new one. We aren't holding our breath on this house anymore. We do LOVE IT, but have decided by next Wednesday if we don't hear anything, we are done. On to the next! We have an appointment on Sunday with Ryland Homes. If all goes well, our home would be ready for move in December! I have jumped through so many hurdles this week, I told Adam I just want to rent the rest of our lives lol This home stuff is so frustrating! Anywho.. we are still hanging in there and trying to keep our sanity!

On the bright side last night, Katy finally got rain! Hubby and I turned off all the lights in the house and enjoyed a good ole lightning storm! We had some branches down but thank the lord that was all. A friend of mine said trees were split in half in her neighborhood (Keep in mind she lives about a mile and a half from us) Here is a picture I took right before the storm hit last night!

Pretty creepy! Well I hope everyone has a great "little" Friday! We are so ready for the weekend!

Moving Sale - Success!!

Happy to be back work on Monday to relax at my desk all week! We had a busy but productive weekend! Our moving sale was a SUCCESS! We got rid of EVERYTHYING (Except my prom dress and glass Santa cookie jar that I am in love with) I just could not push myself to get rid of the dress. I know if we have a daughter she would not wear it, but she defnitiely could play dress up in it! And the Santa cookie jar.. well I just love Christmas and decorating so I could not push myself to give that up! I want to say THANK YOU to my mama in law and 2 seesters for helping us out! You guys are awesome!

This is what our living room looked like before...

It was driving my crazy. I always have a spotless house, so to have all this "junk" in my living room was killing me! On the bright side, it is back to being spotless! After our garage sale, hubbs went and got him a new toy... a new power drill! He definitely put it to good use by installing about 4 new sets of blinds in the house! I finally filled ALL the nail holes in our house and am officially done painting! I guess I put my new last name to good use :)

We did get some good news on the house, the bank is doing an appraisal this week so after that we are praying we are good to go! I did do some research into the neighborhood and if this doesn't go through we could afford to build.. but we just don't want to wait 3 months to get into a home. We do LOVE the neighborhood so we aren't losing hope in this house just yet! Every day we keep telling ourselves "today will be the day we find out!!" Until then we won't hold our breath but do still have our fingers and toes crossed!

We cannot wait to get up to San Marcos to meet this bundle of joy! Until then... here are a couple of pictures!

Mommy and baby are doing great!

This Saturday Adam and I are having a "MOVING SALE". I thought that sounded a lot better than a "garage sale". I got all the signs made last night, and of course I HAD to decorate them! Today and Friday will be hectic trying to get everything ready for Saturday! Thankfully my awesome mother in law will be helping us as well! Also... pray today is the day we find out about the house! I got a head start this morning so I thought I would head out to Brookshire to look at it and see how long it would take me to get to work from home. I got into the neighborhod and there were wild bunny rabbits EVERYWHERE! I guess that is a plus to having a neighborhood in the middle of a rice field.. getting to enjoy the wild life out there! And it only took me 12 minutes to get to the office! Woohoo!

My first..

BLOG! I am hoping to be able to keep up with this as much as I do with facebook :) About a month and a half ago we decided we did not want to spend any more renting when we could buy a home. We applied, and what do you know?! We got approved! This past month has been a rollercoaster ride! We had been watching a home on HAR for about 2 months. The night we got approved we told the realtor about it. He said "Well, do y'all want to go look at it now?" Of course we did! We put in our offer that next day and now it has been a waiting game. We decided this is the perfect house, and we will wait as long as we need to for it!

It's located in Brookshire, but "zoned" in Katy ISD. With us hoping to have a little one in the near future, we wanted to make sure we were in a great school district. I went from kindergarten through 12th Grade in Katy ISD and Adam went from 5th Grade to 12th Grade! My parents both live here and Adam's siblings, Mom and Step father live here so we knew we didn't want to go far.

Well, that's it for now! We are hoping to hear if we got the house within the next couple of days and would be moving in under 30 days! We sure have our work cut out for us! Say some prayers and cross your fingers for us!
