Bennett was laying on his mombo today while mama was washing bottles. Looked over to check on him and what do I see? Baby sitting up! I am in for some trouble!! He should not be able to do this for at least another month! Adam says he is going to have a mouth full of teeth at 6 months and a full beard by the time he is 10. Here is him mid way sitting up...
Also, Bennett had his first "scare"!! I saw on the camera he was up from nap time so went to go grab him. He didn't hear me come in and was looking at his name on the wall, turned over and saw my face and jumped back and gasped! Haha he then started giggling! It was the cutest thing in the world!
He has made my not so lovely day a great one! First things first, while cleaning the guest bedroom this weekend I looked under the bed and discovered mold all over the wall and baseboards. Ugh! We had a leak. Next, we have a fridge in the garage where we keep all the drinks and our meat in the freezer. I was working outside and blowing out the garage so had to unplug the fridge. Guess who forgot to plug it back in? Me. Yup. Didn't discover it until yesterday so our $180 worth of groceries went down the drain. Not literally, it all went out with the trash last night :( Next, our electricity billed us twice (the second time this year) Ugh!! Can't catch a break. Luckily, I had 3 contractors at the house today and new dry wall, base boards, and paint!
We will probably do our "3 month" photoshoot tomorrow! Can't wait to compare them over the last 3 months...

Smiles and Supported Sitter!
Last week we had a pretty fussy baby and mama was going crazy!! Knock on wood this week has been a lot better! We have seen lots and lots of smiles! Especially when daddy gets home from work - Bennett just lights up! Ha, I guess he gets sick of seeing mama all day every day!
Bennett seems to be growing and growing. Instead of a bottle every 2 hours (except night time) he is now making it every 3-4 hours which is nice! If we are out and about he will make it 4 hours no problem. He is down to 2 naps a day. (Yesterday was 1 LONG one, he took a 5 hour nap!! I was so worried and kept checking on him. Finally I just had to wake him up!) Usually by 11:30am he is down for the count, on and off until 2:00pm, then down for a second nap between 4:00pm and 5:00pm, up at 6:00pm and in bed by 9:30pm! Yay schedule! It only took 3 months ;)
Baby boy is officially a supported sitter! He loves sitting in his bumbo and sitting up in your lap (with our help of course) Any thing he can get his hands on goes straight into his mouth. He constantly has his hands in his mouth now and even started sucking his thumb! I look at his newborn pictures and cannot believe how big he is already :( I knew time would go by fast when he got here, but geeze... not this fast!
We usually try and get out of the house once a day. Our typical outings are Babies R Us, HEB and Nana and Papa's house! If it's rainy, our we off to a slow start, I will not get him out in the heat. We have decided on his halloween outfit and it is PERFECT for my chunky monkey! I am getting good at keeping the house spotless. If something doesn't get done during the day, Adam gladly helps at night!
Yesterday was Daddy's 5 year anniversary at work! Thank you for working your hardest to support our family. Your work ethic, integrity and enthusiasm to achieve your goals are all traits that I know will be passed down to Bennett. We are so lucky to have you in our lives and love you very much!!
Now, this week in my phone pics :)

Caught him red handed rocking out on his piano :)
This outfit has been "daddy" approved.
Love this little man to pieces!
Little Bevo is ready for the game this weekend!
Other than sucking his thumb 3 minutes after he was born, this is the first time he has done it since!
Such a rough life..

Moved in
Well, I got the crib raised, Bennett's clothes moved back into his closet along with diapers and wipes. (He had been in our room since birth) Also moved his tub, wash clothes, soaps, rubber duckies all moved into his bathroom. I called Adam almost in tears. I told him I feel like my son is leaving us for college :( lol silly I know. Our room is on the other side of the house but back ups to his room (Weird I know) I am contemplating making another door to his room so I have easy access at all times. He slept GREAT in his room. Me? Not so much. I was a nervous wreck and was up watching the cam from 2:30-4:00am. I even went in and checked on him a few times. Nap times are not so great in his room. He loves looking at his mobile, the wall color, and his name letters above his bed. He won't go to sleep because he is just in "aw" of everything lol I told Adam though it is nice having our room back, our closet back and our bathroom back!
Other good news - Daddy comes home today! Woohoo!! We can't wait to see him!

Bennett has not been taking a paci so I have not been forcing it on him. I popped this one in to get a pic and he would not spit it out! LOL He will repay me for this in a few years
Had to post this one - Identical to daddy's eyes - eye lashes and all
What I see when I wake up every morning. Melts my heart
Napping on my mama
My #1 man, sorry daddy ;)
Bennett and I made our first trip to Hobby Lobby this week! He was awake the whole time staring at all the decor/floral - jaw dropped and all. He even gave me enough time to make a new fall wreath for the front door :)

My baby necessities!!
A few of my friends did this and I think it is a great way to remember all the little things that have been amazing throughout these first few months of Bennett's life!
My aunt got Bennett the Cloud B sleep sheep! I LOVE IT. The rain and ocean waves put Bennett to sleep for every nap and bed time. When he moves into his own room, mama is going to have to get her own. ;)
I LOVE our stroller and carrier. It is so easy to just snap in and go. The stroller collapes with just one pull and is pretty light weight!
The stroller also converts to a toddler stroller. It is great and very mobile! Bennett and I took a second walk with it this morning and it did great!
Kind of blurry, but this play mat has given Bennett hours of play time. He loves the toys, kicking the keyboard and making music, and LOVES the mirror in the middle of the hanging toys. He could sit and stare at himself for the longest time!
The mombo has been our life savior. I forgot I had it and had it in Bennett's crib so we just recently started sitting Bennett up on it. It has a soft vibration and Bennett loves laying in it
Bennett had REALLY dry skin during the first few weeks at life so we had to stick to only Aveeno baby lotion. Now his skin is great and I have started lathering him down with this every night before putting him in his pj's. He LOVES his baby massage and the smell of the lotion calms him down.
The tummy time bobby has almo been amazing. After 1 month, Bennett learned to roll over during tummy time making it impossible for him to do 30 minutes of tummy time a day. This holds him up in place and he can't roll over... he still hates tummy time and usually cries his eyes out. I have started breaking tummy time up into 3 10 minute sessions
Twilight turtle... LOVE. When we put Bennett to bed he will spend about 15 minutes just staring at the stars on the ceiling and eventually go to sleep.
Since having to switch to formula, these tommee tippee dispensers have been great for on the go trips. You can put the amount of water in the bottle, put the amount of formula in dispenser, place in bottle and your good to go! When it's time to feed, just dump formula, shake and your good to go! I do this every night before bed and get Bennett's 5:00am bottle ready. The second he makes a peep, I jump up shake his bottle and he is usually back to bed within 15 minutes. :)
My medela pump in style was amazing. I was not able to produce enough milk and Bennett just could not latch on. Before my milk dried up, I was able to get 1-2 bottles of milk for about a month. I like to tell myself that it helped!
Some other things that were great - zip up pajama's with built in mittens. Bennett LOVED to scratch his face during the first 2 months and would always get his mittens off. This onsies helped out a lot and made diaper changes in the middle of the night a breeze.
Also, we bought a $40 ear thermometer and when Bennett got his first fever, his ears were too small to get an acurate temp and it was a pain in the butt to use. I ended up buying a $5 rectal, mouth and under arm thermometer and it works great.
I have also learned that I cannot have too many burp rags and wash cloths!!! :)

Drooling, Tear Ducts and Burps!
Last week Bennett started having a little bit of spit bubbles. This week we have a full blown drooling baby! This usually starts around 3 months, so I am thinking we may hit teething a wee bit before 6 months - yikes!
Tear ducts - mid last week I noticed Bennett having a lot more "sleepies" in one eye. I didn't think anything of it. Friday night, baby boy had tears rolling down his left eye but was happy as a clam. I jumped on my computer and searched "watery eyes" in babies and found an apparently common problem - clogged tear ducts!! There is no medication, usually stops by 9 months of age. It can persist longer and that is when you can choose to do surgery to unclog it. I found a simple eye massage to do 2 times a day to unclog it and keep it clean!! Saturday morning baby's eye was completely sealed shut. Ugh! I know it hurt me a lot more than it did him! Finally after keeping up with the massages Saturday and Sunday morning his eye is unclogged! Woohoo! I was going to call the doctor first thing this morning if it persisted.
Now onto burping - this seems to be the only time Bennett cries, cries and cries. About a week ago we noticed when feeding him, the second you take the bottle away he starts this blood curdling scream. Bennett has NEVER cried like this. It usually takes 45 minutes between me and Adam passing him back and forth and burping him over the shoulder, on his tummy and slumped over our legs to get his burp out. It is MISERABLE! Poor baby, I know it hurts him so bad :( I have found that some babies are just super sensitive to burps and others are not. Bennett must be super super sensitive. It has made for some long nights/early mornings that is for sure.
Other than that we had a great weekend!! Bennett attended his first birthday party! Baby Brynn turned 1!! We had a great time, other than it being soooo hot outside. Bennett had to go inside after awhile. He missed his nap time so we had a tired fussy baby Saturday night. Yesterday we just did stuff around the house and played with Bennett. Adam is now gone until Friday :( So it's just me and baby b this week! If I can find the allen wrench for his crib... I am going to raise his crib and start the transition of baby into his room :( I get anxiety just thinking about it. We are going to start with just napping in there this week and see how it goes. If he is not ready, I am completely okay with it :) I read most parents sleep less when baby is in their own room because they have the monitor on full blast waiting to hear every sound. This will definitely be me. Thank god for our summer infant camera system. It is my must haves and use it everytime Bennett is down for a nap or down for the night!

Bennett with Daddy at his first birthday party!
Baby Brynn!! I am not going to lie, after holding her I think I want a baby girl next :)
Saturday was my brother's 27th birthday! We framed this photo I took a few weeks ago and sent it to him. He LOVED it
Friday night it was cool enough to take Bennett on his first walk! He was screaming his eyes out when we put him in his carrier, and within 2 seconds of starting our walk he was passed out
Daddy Bennett and Sasha
This was about 3 weeks ago but Bennett's facial expression is priceless!! One of his new nicknames is Puglsey from the Addams Family! lol
Aunt Mechel got Bennett these boots before he was born. They are still way too big, but just had to put them on him with his denim overalls. Priceless!

Famous ;)
Just a real quick post while my little man plays..
I woke up at 7:00am to my phone ringing and a text message - thought something might be wrong so got up to check it. It was my brother calling me to tell me he was driving to work and at a red light was on facebook. He was wonderin why Bennett's texans photo was on his news feed again than saw ABC13 posted it! Haha he said if he had coffee this morning he would have spilt it every where!
My MIL and my friend's mom both said they saw him on the news! I MISSED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have my DVR set for all the other local news this afternoon and evening hoping they play it again :) If not my brother said his station (He works for ABC in Corpus) lets people request copies of videos so I am hoping Houston's station does. They put he is 12 weeks instead of 11 but that's okay. 385 people have "liked" his photo already! Okay, that's it. I'm done bragging :)

Sleep schedule? Check!
Well, I can FINALLY say we have a sleep schedule with maybe one bad night a week! Bennett is sleeping from 9:30pm - 5:15am, back down around 5:45am until 8:00am! We have been aiming towards this for awhile and as of the last couple of weeks, Bennett pretty much set the schedule himself! We have been doing bath time around 8:45pm, lather him down with the Johnson lavender night time lotion and get him in some pjs with a bottle. Whew! Finally :)
Since my last post - I got a dead battery at the HEB gas station with Bennett in the car. I didn't bring the diaper bag because we were just running to get gas, and to wells fargo then home. Mistake on my end! Luckily the nicest man in the world jumped my car, I ran home (leaving my car on) got a bottle made and we rushed to walmart to get it replaced. Right when I got out of the car Bennett pooped up his back and I only had 2 wipes left! It was horrible! On the bright side, my battery was still under warranty so I got a new one for free. It was not a good day! I will never leave home without my diaper bag again! Bennett had a slight fever for a little over 3 days after his vaccine, that was not fun either! Last week was just not a good week!
Last weekend we had everyone over for the Texans game! Bennett looked adorable in his Texans outfit and they won! :) Yesterday, daddy surprised us and got off work around 10:00am

Bennett was SO surprised to see daddy!!
This weekend we have Bryn's first birthday party!! It will be good to get the kiddos together and get to see Sac and Allie for more than 5 minutes :)
I already have this one in a frame :)
Bennett with Aunt Nanny
The men "attempting" to grill hamburgers. Too bad I accidently bought the fattiest meat and it started a grease fire lol Also, notice Bob and Jeff. They showed up in their cowgirls jerseys. Yuck!
Go Texans :)
After his bath last week - adorable!
With daddy off yesterday, I was able to clean up my garden! :)

Bennett thinking about what trouble he can get into today
He cries during tummy time for a good 3 minutes now, and then passes out.
Seems like I can only find time to blog once a week.. so until next week.. :)

2 Month Check Up!
Daddy's big guy is right!!
(PS - this is the face he makes after mama gives him kisses! It is the cutest thing in the whole world!)
Well here are the stats -
13lbs 4oz - 78 percentile!!
24.5 Inches long - 90th percentile!!!!!
I knew Bennett was long - he can barely fit into his 3 month pj's - his feet are right at the bottom! I bought some 3-6 month stuff this week! I guess someone is taking after his daddy!!
Our doctor's visit was MISERABLE!! We got there a few minutes early like we always do. After waiting an hour I asked the receptionist how much longer (We had seen people come and go whle we still waited) and she told me "Well, don't come early" Ok... that made me one mad mama!
After 1 hour we had a fussy baby and Bennett already ate his bottle. They put us back in a temporary room and told us it would be 5 minutes. Well, they forgot about us back in the room. 30 minutes later, we finally got a room. Once again, told us it would be 5 minutes. It was another 30+ minutes before the doctor came in to show me his growth chart. (Not knowing that his weight and length and not been checked yet) Needless to say Adam gave him an EARFUL. You could tell no one had complained before directly to him. He was definitely blindsided. We walked away with 2 containers of formula and a promise to never make us wait that long again. (We will see) I am giving them one more chance before we switch doctors. TCPA Cinco Ranch you better step it up!
We stopped by Chueys after and Bennett slept the whole lunch. By 4:00 oclock the shots finally started kicking in. Bennett's slight fever is back and he has just been screaming holding his little leg up. Mama just finally sang him to sleep and got some tylenol down him :( I HATE to see him this way!! Thank the lord daddy took off today to be there for the both of us!!

2 months new!!
and still slacking on the blog!! Since my last post my brother came into town Wednesday and Adam's family came in around 9:30 Wednesday night! I have really not been home since Wednesday other than to sleep! Where to start? Baby turned 2 months old on Wednesday!! He is such a hoot! He has really started to smile a lot lately and even giggled at mama on Saturday morning - I couldn't believe it!!!!!! He is constantly aware of his surroundings and joke that he sleeps with 1 eye open. He loves being held, rocked and talked to. He is becoming a pro at putting his paci in his mouth! He is sooo strong - just like his daddy ;) If you nap with him he will kick you hard! Apparently Adam was the same way! He still LOVES his baths and has even started splashing around in the water.
His Mimi and Ginny thought he is perfect! His new nick name from the family is "Widdle Waldo" (Waldo is my hubby's nickname) We had such a great time just hanging around the house with them and watching the olympics!
Before the family left yesterday we made a trip to Los Cucos! Bennett's first time there! He slept the whole time and ended up sleeping until 5:30pm last night! 5 and a half hour nap!! He even slept through the night two! Baby boy was exhausted!

Bennett with his Great Grandma "Mimi"
Daddy and Bennett's Great Aunt "Gee"
Bennett sleeping with cousins Katelyn and Kayla
Unlce Chad and Bennett's Great Aunt Ellen
Daddy even napped with him too ;) You should have heard the snoring!
Bennett has discovered tv - he LOVES watching the Olympics. Cartoons, not so much. He loves being able to see people's faces
Wednesday morning. How cute is he?
Friday morning - dressed to impress
& his shirt came off. Everyone said he was a mini daddy with the plaid shorts and sandals ;)
He can finally fit into his Texas shorts! We're ready for football season! Hook em!
Tomorrow we have baby boy's 2 month appointment - Doctor was on vacation last week. I am not looking forward to him getting vaccines. Daddy is taking off and going with me. It killed me last time having to hold him down and hearing him cry his eyes out. :(
