Progress!!

Yay!! Our lot isn't just grass anymore! They had been watering our lot for the past few days but I was not too sure why.. Luckily my friend Ryan and his wife have built a house out there and he kind of gave me a timeline. Once they water the ground for a few days (to soften it since it has been so dry) they then build the frame for the slab! Good news is, I drove by this morning and the sprinklers were off and all the wood had been delivered for the frame. They should start on that today and hopefully by next week our slab will be done!

How about that crazy storm last night? I work about 5 minutes away from home so we got another huge start about an hour before the massive one came through. When I got home last night (Just barely beat that big one) I met my neighbor outside and she said it hailed at our house! Adam also said he drove through some hail at I-10 and the beltway. This weekend I have LOTS to do! I need to go find some shoes for Tiff's wedding, I am thinking hot pink. I found some hot pink coach ones that I love. We will see! I am also hoping to get this bachlorette party planning squared away too! Tuesday is my boss' birthday so I ordered her Ooh La La cupcakes. Now I need to find a cute cupcake stand! I heard Bed Bath & Beyond had one. I also need to start shopping for hubby's birthday! It is right around the corner!

PH it is!

Georgie has officially booked our hotel at Planet Hollywood (Gee - Adam's aunt told me him and Lance wanted that because they have girls dancing in cages near the black jack tables lol)  I am so excited! I felt bad for Adam because Chad backed outof Vegas so he will be flying there with me, Natalie and Mechel! Ginny, Lance and Georgie are flying out on Geo's (Georgie) private jet. They should be landing the same time we are so I am happy my hubby will get to have some "man" time while we are there! Not to brag, but we are such a fun group and will have an amazing time! At first I wasn't so excited about Vegas. Me and gambling just don't get along, but as our trip approaches I am getting more exicted every day! I can't wait to see the city! We are seeing Terry Vater at Mirage when we get there. Somethings on my list while we are there -

Happy 61st birthday to the best father in the world. Everything I learned, I learned from you )along with being spoiled, stubborn, and a hot head.) I know no matter what happens to me, you will always be on my side for the rest of my life. If I wanted to go play outside, I always asked you because you could never say no to your baby girl. I hear the stories of when I was a new born and I wouldn't let mom rock me to sleep, only you. Thank you for being the best dad a girl could ask for and always loving me unconditionally. I love you dad!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR LITTLE LEO! HE TURNS 1 TODAY!

Even though he did get in trouble this morning because while his daddy was getting ready for work he decided to give Leo his favorite squeaky ball and put him in the bedroom with me. I was not a happy camper to say the least :) HOWEVER I did leave him in his crate this morning with his favorite orgnanic banana and peanut butter chewy treat. Oh Mondays..

No AC at work today and I got bitten by an ant on my foot! :( Oh well, we did have a great weekend but I didn't get to take very many pictures! Friday, I had a girls night with my sister in law + my hubby. We watched Bridesmaids and she cooked us dinner! Saturday we finally got a new fan installed in our kitche. Our other one caught on fire 2 weeks ago. Yep, that was fun. Saturday night we had everyone over the fight and had a blast! Needless to say Adam and I did not feel too good Sunday Morning! Yesterday I went with my best friend, Tiffany, to get my bridesmaid gown. We had a blast at Davids Bridal :) Her wedding is 1/27/12! I am the matron of honor and Adam is the best man. Looks like we to walk down the isle one more time together! :) Speaking of - Happy 10 monthiversary to me and Adam! :)

Besides going out to our lot on Sunday afternoon, we spent the rest of the day on the couch together watching football! I had the Saints defense on my fantasy team and would lose points every time the Texans scored. It was horrible! I wanted them to win so bad, but I wanted to win my game too! I ended up whooping the other guy I was playing. First fantasy game = success! I am Romo Witten his pants and yes, I have some creeper man as my picture so no creepers will mess with me on here :)



After the games, my WONDERFUL mom follewed us out to the lot to take a picture of us with the sold sign. They are starting to build this week so I wanted a picture before all the construction starts :) Here is us with our new lot!

 Tomrrow is our Leo's 1st birthday :) I am sure I will post a blog for him tomorrow.Wednesday is my daddy's 61st birthday! He can't get out of the house really, so no going out and putting a sombrero on him this year. My mom, Adam and I will be having a small shrimp boil for him Wednesday night. I also found out yesterday my dad is getting put on the lung transplant list! I know how long those things take so we are not getting our hopes up just yet. Any who..Wishing everyone a very happy week!

How about that Grey's last night? I was crying my eyes out, I could never imagine losing my child or having them taken away from me. I was such a wreck! It was a pretty intense premiere though! I also caught up on the new show, New Girl - love it! And I had to watch the new Two and Half Men, it was pretty funny!

I got a call yesterday that we didn't pick out the limestone on our house. We thought our house was all brick so I was so excited it did come with limestone! Especially since we paid for the second highest elevation. Well, that was apparently the last step before they break ground! I should be getting a call next week when they do break ground! Wooohoo!

I am so excited for this weekend! UFC Saturday night then..... FOOTBALL ON SUNDAY!!!! I am usually not a big NFL fan, but I have always loved college football. This year I am doing my first fantasy draft (With the help of my hubby, I didn't even know what a wide receiver and tight end were). My team name is "Romo Witten his pants" :) I even made a spreadsheet for all my players lol I am so excited for my team to win! Happy Friday!

McDreamy Time!!!

The day is finally here!!!! I CANNOT WAIT for the new Grey's Anatomy tonight!!!!!!!

I have been waiting since last fall for this show!! I started watching about a season and a half ago and was hooked on my first show! I then got Netflix and managed to watch every season and took me about a month! Also, the new modern family last night was amazing! Claire and Phil remind me of Adam and I! And I just love Cam and Mitch!

Also, IT'S OFFICIAL.....1 MONTH UNTIL VEGAS!!!!! I am not sure where we are staying yet, we have it down to two hotels - Mandalay or Planet Hollywood. We will see! I am so excited!!

Sick and Tired..

Well, I haven't posted because I have been extremely sick since last week!! Finally on Sunday I got up enough strength to go out with the gang for the Texans Game! We had a blast at Brick House and decided we will have to make it a "thing" to go out every Sunday with everyone! Yesterday we put our down payment down and finalized all our upgrades!! Wooohooo!! Christmas cannot come soon enough! They should be surveying the land this week and staking everything out. Our slab should be done within 3-4 weeks and then starts the real construction! We are SO anxious to get in! I am so happy to be back at work, but only to find out I got my favorite coworker's sick :( Also, hubby called me today and said he has it now! Boo! :( Cannot seem to shake this dang summer cold! Anywho.... below are some pictures from this weekend!

Last night I finally got productive and decided it was about time I made a wedding album. Took me almost a year :) Thank the lord for Shutterfly! I made a book for my shower with our engagement pictures and had all the girls sign it. The book turned out AMAZING! So I decided to get my butt in gear and go through ALL of our wedding photos last night. It took me an hour and a half to upload them all on Shutterfly, but I finally got it down and now up to page 20 so far! Only about 60 more pages to go.. Last night we also had a visitor in our yard.. see below..

Can you spot her? I don't know why I automatically think its a girl, but she is. Poor baby opossum. Sasha scared her and this poor thing sat in this tree for hours shaking. I checked back on her before we went to bed and she was gone. Anywho.. now back to work. Can it be Friday yet?

Upgrades, upgrades & upgrades!

We had a blast...minus the disagreements on paint and granite. We got ALL of our upgrades! Somehow we went over our $25,000 budget for upgrades but only my $3,000. We are hoping we can just roll that $3,000 over into our loan. My broker said that shouldn't be a problem. We were able to get all the items we want - whirl pool jacuuzi tub, granite counter tops in all bathrooms and kitchen, upgraded ALL appliances to stainless and upgraded the refrigerator to a french door one.. woohoo! Some of the little things we upgraded was all the faucets, door knobs, front dor, etc! Our main one was the boxed seat window in the master, sprinkler system, and our patio :) Here are some photos of the upgrades we picked out. They are from my phone so not too great of quality. We go back next Monday to "finalize" all of our items and then they start the building process next week :)

Now its time for the waiting game! Years from now I am hoping we can look back at this blog and look at the building of our first home :) We are planing on taking pictures of the building process at least once a week, and then compare them when we have the final product!

Hook Em Horns!

We had a great weekend! Saturday we had the family over for some Texas football! The first half of the game was a BIG disappointment but sure enough, the Longhorns pulled it off! Here are a couple of pictures :)

Yesterday we watched football ALL DAY! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Texans game - it was amazing and the crowd was insane! I hope this is how their whole season is going to be! And last night we stayed up to watch the cowgirls lose their game... yippee! I also hope this is how their season goes! :)

Today I get off at noon and we finally get to go to the design center and pick out all the upgrades on our new home! Let's see how this goes... Adam said last night he wanted dark carpet.. yuck! I pray for whoever our sales rep is! Wish us luck!

Procrastination!

I promised my self last night I would 1.) Upload photos from this weekend and 2.) Update my blog. I just could not get around to doing it!

This weekend we didn't get a whole lot accomplished. As most of you know, our fridge broke 2 weekends ago. We are building so we are adding a $2,000 frdige in our new house so we HATED to buy a cheap one for $500 when we knew we weren't going to need it by Winter. My wonderful and amazing mother decided to upgrade her fridge to a stainless one so she donated her older one to us! It is AMAZING to not be living out of a cooler again :) Adam got off work early Saturday and needless to say, after flooding our kitchen and having a plumber come out, we finally got our new "used" fridge installed!

Natalie stayed with us all weekend and we had a blast being lazy Saturday and Sunday! We caught up on our shows and movies and Adam made us some delicious dinner! Monday we had all of our friends over for some beer, BBQ, and corn hole! (That corn hole/washers/testie toss combo was the best purchase we have ever made from Academy!) It was so good to catch up with Cindi (the new mommy to be!) She is definitely rocking the baby bump and ready to meet her mini Ted! She is also making the baby's bedding, drapes, sheets, etc! I admire her! This weekend will be the first TEXAS game we can watch (Since ATT does not offer the Longhorn Network) so we are looking forward to having all of the Painters over for some yummy food and beer!

I am going to try this new recipe I saw on the Cook channel the other night - Stuffed and Fried Olives! - Instead of using breadcrumbs you use crushed up Nacho Cheese Doritos - Yummy! I'll post some pictures of how they turn out!

Labor Day!

Well, yesterday we OFFICIALLY backed out of the short sale home and are happy to annouce we submitted our contract to build today!!! Woohoo! Our move in date is Christmas time though :( I am okay with that though! I told Adam as long as I still get to hang up lights and put a tree up, I will be okay :) We are going out to the lot this weekend so I will take a few pictures! Next weekend we get to go to the design center and pick out all of our upgrades. Once that is done, they will officially start building.

Adam actually has off all weekend! He needs a 3 day weekend more than anything! We are planning on going to San Marcos to visit Sac, Allie, Money Man Riley, and the newest addition to their family, miss Brynn! We CANNOT wait to meet this little bundle of joy!

Other than that, I plan on getting my dress for Tiffany and Paul's wedding, start planning her bachelorette party and start shopping for outfits for Vegas! Woohoo! I cannot wait until our vacation! Just a month and a half away, and the weather is supposed to be amazing that time of year! I know all of us (Waldo, me, Chad, Mechel, Natalie, Ginny, Georgie and Lance were have so much fun! I am the only one who hasn't been before so I am looking foward to just sight seeing!
