Surprise!!

So Friday, Adam called and I told him to get on skype so we could chat - he said he was leaving the grocery store and heading back to his hotel. He called 30 min later - it was a nightmare - Bennett had a fever, while trying to get his temperature he pooped allll over me! Then - tried to get some medicine down him and he spit it out everywhere! I was STARVING and Adam kept telling me to order chinese - I kept telling him I am NOT going out anywhere tonight and will just find something to eat at the house. He told me again to order chinese food and he would pick it up, I told him no than got confused! He said he would be home in 5 minutes! Ah! I was so happy!! I told him not to pick up food and just come straight home! He had to leave at 5:00am that next morning - it was after 7:00pm already so we only got to spend 3 short hours with him before bed time!

He held Bennett the WHOLE time. Baby boy loved every second of having daddy home!

Didn't get a whole lot done yesterday - Dropped Bennett off at my mom's for a bit while I ran to Babies R Us and had dinner then we headed home for a quiet night at home!

Today - I dropped Bennett off at 8:30am and I accomplished - cleaning counters, wiped down all stainless steel appliances, dusted everything in our home, bathed BOTH dogs and myself, vacuumed whole house and the couch, wiped down bathrooms and tubs, and got 1 load of laundry done! I was going to try and take a nap, but missed Bennett too much so by 1:00pm I was at my mom's to pick up Bennett. We came home, fed him and laid in bed and took an hour nap with mama.

Bennett is down for a SECOND nap right now! I can't believe it!

He is becoming so much fun, loves playing with toys and starting to show his personality more every day!

I CANNOT believe baby boy will be 2 months old this week!! Stop growing Benny boop boop, mama wants you to stay her tiny little boy just a wee bit longer! :( I stepped on the scale with Bennett - not sure how accurate it is but it looked close to 13lbs.... Big boy!

Slacking a bit..

It's been a hard week with having daddy gone! Sunday AND Monday night Bennett slept through the night, then starting Tuesday he started refusing to take any naps until around 7:00pm until 8:00pm - then staying up wide awake until around 11:30pm - then back up at 4:00am. I have not had time to get anything done! Tuesday we went to Grandma's so she could watch him while I showered! Wednesday we had a lunch date with Granma Debbie (Adam's mama) and this was B's first restaurant experiene, I was terrified he would have a crying episode! He did awesome until the end and cried the whole way home. We went to HEB today and he did great!

He is becoming quite the playing machine! He played with his mat for an hour this morning before getting fussy! I have started to notice some little smiles other than sleeping - daddy even got to see one while video chatting :)

On another note, my back brakes have been making awful noises! Tomorrow morning my car is going into the shop :( Hopefully will not be without it too long. Sunday Bennett will go to Nana's for the day so mama can go on a cleaning spree of the house before Mimi and Ginny come on Wednesday! Good news is Adam will be back for sure on Thursday and will take Friday off! :) Finally got Bennett off his newborn pacis and found a brand he likes! MAM seemed to be the winner! Made it to Babies R Us this weekend and stocked up!

We put him down with it for every nap and at bed time last night and he slept through the whole night! It has a timer, volume and plays streams, rain, ocean waves and whales - the whales wake him up but he seems to love the ocean and the rain setting!

Daddy had off all weekend - thank the lord! We spent Friday night with Mechel, Kayla and Abner! We had a great night! Saturday we hung around the house - Granma and Nana stopped by to see Bennett. Yesterday morning we got to meet baby Ainsley for the first time!! She is a doll! It was so funny when we her and Bennett together - they both looked at each other like "what the heck are you?"

Cousin Greg with Ainsley - we found a photo of my Grandma when she was a little girl and Ainsley by far has her eyes and nose!! Spitting image of her. Almost brought tears to my eyes. My Grandma truly was my best friend. I wish she could be here to see all of her great grandbabies - she would be over the moon to have 3 babies in the family (Will be 4 tomorrow!!!)

I picked up this play mat 2 weeks ago at Babies R Us for $25!! I finally just got time this past week to put it together! (Yes I realize I put the last 2 squares upside down) lol

Now onto the hard part - Daddy left this morning for 2 weeks :( I cried last night just thinking about him being gone - but have kept a brave face on today and so far no tears! His Aunt Gee and Mimi will be here on Wednesday next week (originally Friday) so I'm excited to hang out with them next week and daddy is going to try his hardest to be home by Thursday night! It was the sweetest thing in the world watching him kiss Bennett goodbye this morning :( Praying it flies by

Just got word that Adam will be going out of town for 2 whole weeks :( We were kind of expecting it, but didn't know for sure until today. He will be leaving Monday and coming home the following Friday - the same day his Aunt and Grandma come! These are going to be two very rough weeks.. I'll need lots of help from Nana, Granma and Auntie M.

Since I last posted on Sunday, Bennett has been doing much better! We had one rough night on Monday where he was screaming from 3:00am-4:30am and mommy cried her eyes out too, but things have been better since! Go Bennett!! He seems to be on a good sleeping schedule now too! He went down from 5:00-7:00 last night, and was up until 10:00pm, slept until 4:00am, back down at 4:30am and up at 8:00am - ate and was back down by 8:45am until around 10:45. Woohoo! He is making lots more noises these days and seriously makes the funniest faces!! He LOVES staring at the ceiling fans go round and round and loves staring at the huge mirror we have hanging above the couch. He can follow us with his eyes. When daddy gets home from work Bennett starts looking around the room for him. He has officially mastered grasping my hair and not letting go. :) He is a little more interested in his toys, but still has some trouble grasping them. He loves holding his burp rag. I can never pry it from his hands.

We have had an exciting week. Monday we had my appointment and everything went great! I have lost 18lbs and only have 10 more to go! Doctor P could not believe how big Bennett was! I thought I was going crazy when I walked into the doctor office with Bennett. They had completely remodeled their whole office! Bennett was great and slept the whole time. Yesterday we went to see Nana and Papa then my lovely best friend Kristi came too see Bennett. She saw him in the hospital, but has been working like crazy and hasn't had a chance to come by. It was so good to see her and catch up! She was a pro with Bennett and even rocked him to sleep. Today, mama ran out of coffee so me and Bennett made a trip to Bed Bath & Beyond to get some k-cups. This was my first public outing other than to Granma's and doctors office by myself. After that we went to Best Buy to buy me and Adam a web cam so we can skype when he is out of town. I don't know why we never did that before, but happy we get to see daddy while he is gone. We are going to test it out with Uncle Christopher here in a little bit!

Well, Doctor Razak was right. 6 weeks is definitely the fussy stage. Since about Thursday Bennett has been constantly crying. Sometimes rocking and singing helps, other times nothing works! Not even a car ride! We went to Granma's yesterday to celebrate our niece's birthday and he was perfect!! The second we walked in the house - back to screaming until 10 last night when he fell asleep. Sigh. Hope it only lasts a week. I hate seeing my baby boy cry his eyes out :(

Today I have my 6 week check up with Doctor Peterson - I am so excited for her to see Bennett but terrified he will have one of his fits. I will pack a BIG bottle with me just in case!

Bennett rolled over 6 times within 10 minutes yesterday so finally decided to get it on camera! For some reason I can't upload a video on here so have to upload it on you tube for some reason!

We had a great week. Adam got off at 2:00pm on Monday & Tuesday and was completely rained out on Wednesday and Thursday so we got some quality time in with daddy! We stayed in and just played with our baby boy, plus there was no way I was getting baby boy out in this crazy weather! Uncle Chad came over yesterday and now "Uncle" Ben is staying the weekend with us because his wifey is out of town.

On top of that, we are dog sitting my parents' dog starting tonight so they can go to Corpus to see my brother and Krystal.

Found out this week that Adam's Aunt Gee and Grandma Mimi are coming to visit on August 3rd!! Can't wait to see them and have them meet Bennett! We are also trying to plan a trip to drive to Midland the Wednesday before turkey day and then of course our trip to Corpus after Christmas!

Anywho, I see a stirring baby on the camera.. let the craziness of the weekend begin! :)

I put Bennett on his tummy for some tummy time and HE ROLLED OVER BY HIMSELF!!! klfjglkjfgj!! I could not believe it and just started screaming for Adam! It's official.. our baby is a genius. Babies typically roll over at 3 months.. and Bennett is barely 1. I don't know if I'm ready for this! :)

We said goodbye to 95% of our newborn clothes this week and also good bye to newborn diapers :( Mama is so sad you are growing up so quickly!! :( We put you in your pack and play bassinnet and some how you already can turn completely around and roll onto your side. You are playing more with your toys and are really good at grabbing them and chunking them across the room. You have to hold your bottle every time we feed you. Bennett please stop growing up so quickly!! You are also mastering getting your days and nights mixed up. For the past 2 nights you have woken up at 1:00am and not going back down until 4:00am. Makes for a sleepy daddy that's for sure :) Hopefully we can work on getting a schedule down....

Slacking

a bit on my blog!! We have had a fussy baby all week. Today seems to be a bit better. Doc warned me that 6 weeks is when the fussiness peaks, so we are almost there. (Praying we don't have a colicy baby)  He also was not too good at his afternoon naps this week which is why I haven't had time to post! I have been short on batteries all week so no new pictures. The music toy on his bassinnet died on Monday and I freaked out and took the batteries out of my camera to replace them because he listens to it every time he goes to bed. Finally got out and got some new batteries so some new pictures will be coming!

We had a good July 4th - minus the fussy baby and all. We did make it to Bob and Megan's new house in Bridgeland - I WISH this neighborhood was not close to 290 or we would live there in a heart beat! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this neighborhood. It is so gorgeous and has over 900 acres of lakes. I have a feeling me, daddy, Uncle Bob and Aunt Megan will be making some fishing trips out there with baby B! After that we headed home and had the family over. We grilled a rack of ribs and a drunken chicken. It was delicious! We also got to meet Aunt Mechel's new love interest! He was a very polite guy! We all had a great time, but by the time 10:00pm came around we were wiped out. Fireworks kept Bennett up until 3:00am - ugh! It was horrible! Every boom he would yell out a cry. And not to mention I had Leo under the covers with me shaking.  Daddy got off early yesterday so we also started converting our dining room/study into Bennett and Daddy's play room! I ordered a new plush couch for Bennett (aka Daddy) today from Ashley House and it is being delivered Wednesday! I also got a great warranty on it for 5 years - any tear or spill they will come out and fix it! That is great considering we will have a toddler before we know it.

We bought the TV stand and shelving unit on Wednesday, finally got it together last night!

Since we never watch TV in our room I moved our TV into Bennett's playroom and finally got my mirror mounted on my dresser! I love it! Picked up the vases on Wednesday as well!

He woke up at 5:00am Wednesday and would not go to sleep. Put him in bed with us and fell asleep instantly

1 Month Well Check

Went horrible! I didn't think baby would have to get a shot and he did :( I got them there by myself a-okay. He was awake and great the whole time. He weighed in at 9lbs 1oz and 22 inches long! The doctor is so happy with his weight gain! Only positive to not being able to breast feed - he officially doesn't need to take that yucky polyvisol any more! I hated giving him that stuff, it smelled and looked awful! Baby boy kicked the nurses paperwork off the table and then peed all over the table and walls lol Shows them right for giving him a shot!

He was great..until he got his part 2 of Hep B shot :( He screamed and cried, finally fell alseep on our way home and took a good  hour nap. When he woke up at 2:30 - it was constant screaming until 11:00pm last night. He had a slight fever so he had to get some infant ibuprofen - it was berry flavored and the second it hit his tongue he smiled! lol I guess that was a nice change from having formula every day. His fever had gone down by 10:00 last night but still had a screaming baby. Nothing would calm him down. He slept from 11:00pm - 4:10am - fed and went right back down at 4:45am and he is still alseep now (9:00am) I can't think of the last time I got 8 hours of sleep. I feel great! He doesn't feel warm this morning so I am positive fever is gone. I told Adam he will need to take off in August for our 2 month check up - I can't take him getting his shots :(

Baby B has also started getting a little Cradle Cap. I didn't notice it until after his 4 baths the other night so now have been putting baby oil and massaging his scalp. Let that sit for 15 minutes. Brush, brush and brush his hair then rinse. It seems to be helping out a lot!! He is also... losing his hair!! Only on the top and top left and right sides - Doctor said he is right on track with his hair falling out and it typically starts at 1 month. He has a full set of hair on his back side so we say he has a mullet - buisness in the front, party in the back ;)

Since I last posted, we never made it to Bob and Megan's on Sunday but we did make a trip to Home Depot and Petsmart. Little man was awake for Petsmart, but by the time we got to Home Depot - he slept until we got home. We will hopefully get over to see Bob and Megan's new house tomorrow morning! I can't wait to put baby B in his 4th of July outfits! :) - Yes he has 2 - one from Uncle Christopher and Aunt Krystal and another one from Granma Debbie!

On another note, Aunt Mechel has off today so she will be by later and we are so happy Daddy gets a day off tomorrow to spend with us!!! Hope everyone has a great and safe holiday!! Hope the fireworks won't be too loud tomorrow night and keep who know who up all night!

1 Month New

Happy 1 month baby boy!!! These past 4 weeks have flown by! I feel like you are so old already! You are officially not a new born any more! We took your 1 month photos this morning - I had you on the living room floor and the TV was on. Well, this is the first time you had seen the TV and you were completely mesmerized. You are finally getting some meat on your bones and you are so long!! You can already fit into most of your 3 month clothes! We go to the doctor tomorrow morning and we can't wait to get your exact measurements and weight. Today we are taking you on your first outing other than to the doctor's office or Nana and Papa's house! We are going to see Ben and Megan and their new home, then we need to make a quick trip to Petsmart!

Hoping we have a better day than yesterday - You were a handfull for mommy yesterday. Daddy left to help Ben move and during those 4 short hours you -
