Happy Halloween!

From my very own Pillsbury Dough Boy!!

I need to make his hat a wee bit smaller, but other than that his costume is done! Oh and apparently add another "L" to Pilsbury, thank you mom for noticing ;)

2 week wrap up

Where to begin... luckily last week daddy was home!! I woke up Wednesday around 3:00am and could not breathe. Figured it was just allergies, took some meds Wednesday and went about our day. It was Granma Debbie's birthday so we made her some brownies, got her a balloon, and dropped them off at her work along with her birthday present! By Wednesday night, I was full blown sick. Adam took off Thursday and Friday to take of care of Bennett and by Friday night, I had a chest cold. I did manage to get out of the house Friday and take Bennett to the pumpkin patch at a local church Adam and I go to every year. On the way I realized I forgot my camera. Go figure. So all the pictures are from my phone, they still turned out great. Bennett LOVED the pumpkins! By Saturday I was able to go to work and Adam was sick! He got even worse Sunday, and had to leave town for work Monday. It was a long week last week that is for sure! I still have a cough and the sniffles, and he is still trying to get over it as well.

Bennett on his way to see Granma for her birthday!

Sometime last week.. oops!

Now onto Bennett... it has been a rough week. Bennett has always been so sensitive to his burps. Usually every other day he will scream his heart out for at least an hour. We just have to walk with him high on our shoulder and burp hm until he cries himself to sleep. Nothing can calm him down. As of the last few days it has been happening 80% of the time he is awake and now is even waking him up night. We were up from about 2:45am-after 5:00am this morinng with constant screaming. I called the doctor and they said it is... acid reflux again (even though he is not spitting up) It has been horrible to see him go through this much pain. We go to the doctor tomorrow morning to up his Zantac. Please say a prayer it works! :(

^^^^ This was yesterday....
I had ran by my dad's with Bennett and ran to HEB to get daddy a birthday card from Bennett and me. (His birthday is Monday) We were literally pulling into our neighborhood when my car just shut off, my brakes locked up, my accelerator locked and my steering wheel locked. I was going around 40 miles an hour and could not stop. I slammed into park and that didn't work. The road ended in front of me in about 20 feet and all I could picture is my car flipping off the road. I freaked out and jammed on my emergency brake as hard as I could and came skidding to a stop. Luckily, my sister in law was on her way over, so she saw me on the side of the road. We got Bennett back to the house, she stayed with him and I went back to meet my mom and the tow truck. $1,200 later I now have two new fuel pumps. It was one of the scariest moments in my life and I am just so grateful we were not on the freeway (like we were about 2 minutes before this happened) or I know we could have gotten seriously injured. Thank you God for watching over us.

Now onto this weekend.. if Bennett is better the plan is for us to take 2 cars to Corpus Saturday morning. My mom got a new 2013 Ford Escape, so my brother is taking her old car (which is my first car) and Adam is taking my brother's Ford Explorer! Thank the lord! Adam will drive the explorer home. We have needed a new car for Adam for years now, but just couldn't afford to take on another payment. He has no seat belts in the back seat and no heat so Bennett has never been able to ride in his truck. It would be over $1,500 to get his truck fixed, which is more than the value of his truck!  He has been dropping his truck off at my mom's on Friday when he gets back into town, and picking her car up and takes it for the weekend so he and Bennett can get around. We are so blessed my parents are so generous and giving us their explorer for free! Saturday I will go to my brother's fiancee's shower and Adam will stay at my brother's with Bennett. Saturday night my future sister in law will watch Bennett and we are going to head over to the island for dinner and drinks for the hubby's birthday! :) Here is to safe travels and a happy baby!

sdkflfjsd!

First off, I was sick ALL Saturday with a stomach bug. It was HORRIBLE. I couldn't keep anything down. Sad the one day Adam was home I was down and out. Saturday night Bennett stayed the night with Granma and I worked Sunday :( boo. Adam left for out of town today...

My moms back has been killing her to the point of tears, she got put on medicine but it has done nothing. This morning she called balling her eyes out and said she was going to the ER. Thank the lord my life savior Natalie just got to my house so she sat with Bennett while I ran to the ER to be with my mom. Turns out she has sciatica (I called it) which is what i had with Bennett since he was faced the wrong way (luckily was able to turn him around before I gave birth). There is nothing she can really do for it but take medicine and hope it goes away. It really stinks because she can't even hold Bennett :(

Then last night, I noticed Bennett's same eye that always gets clogged tear ducts was watering really bad again. Ugh! Well we did the eye rub before bed and this morning it was blood red. After I got back from the ER, me and Natalie took Bennett to the doctor and of course, conjunctivitis aka pink eye.  First two questions the doctor asked was does he go to day care? I said no. Next if he had been around children, I said no. Then she asked if he has had a problem with his tear ducts, I said yes! Turns out clogged tear ducts can cause conjunctivitis. We got him a prescription and hopefully it will be all better tomorrow!

Only good thing to our day - we got a call around 5:00 that daddy will be home tonight!! Woohoo! Horrible he had to drive all the way to North Texas only to get a call to come right back for another job in Houston, but we are happy he will be home for a few days! Yay!

Dilemma Solved!

Natalie came to the rescue and somehow we moved our huge sectional (one piece into the playroom and the other one into the garage) and moved our new couch into the living room. We are both so sore today! I finally got some drapes hung up and purchased two sitting chairs. They are perfect for feeding baby boy in!

Also, yesterday we had a bad bad day :( Bennett screamed for 4 hours straight, and then another 2 last night. Oh my gosh it was horrible. We did everything, baths, car rides, went outside, went for a walk.. nothing worked. Thank god Natalie was here to help me. He finally past out in my arms at 8:30 last night and I was in bed by 9! He slept until 8:00 this morning! I couldn't believe it. Poor baby tired himself from crying so hard.

Today has been much much better!

His "Good morning mama! I am so excited to see you!" face

Monday we got out of the house and picked up some halloween decorations! Bennett hung outside with mama in the stroller and helped me :)

He ALWAYS has one eye on his mama. I swear. He now knows if he looks up in his stroller he will see me

We went to the park this morning and fed the ducks!

Leaving the park, tuckered out

Watching the ducks

It was such a beautiful morning!

His newest favorite thing - making faces in the mirror

and then laughing at himself! It is so funny! I don't think he knows its him!

Dilemma

Let me explain myself first - I LOVE our house but our living room is so small!! Especially now that it is filled with play mats, jumpers, bumbos, mombos, etc! We had the ideal living room at our last house and our first purchase was our sectional couch (which I do love) just not for our living room.

I bought another couch for Bennett's playroom and it is a normal size couch. Adma and I talked about moving the smaller couch into the living room and getting one or two sitting chairs to open up the living room. He is out of town so what did I try and do? Yup. Move the couches by myself while Bennett was asleep this morning.

This is the outcome. Yup. A big couch stuck blocking my front door. Luckily my wonderful sister in law is off today and coming by so we can watch Hocus Pocus and help me since Adam is out of town. If we can't move them, then my amazing brother in law will be to the rescue tonight. I learned my lesson! I was so worried Adam was going to be mad at me but all he did was laugh! Ugh! Only me.

What I didn't know

So after having a baby I have come to realize a few things -

1.) It's easy to lose the baby weight because you don't have time to eat. Thank the lord for Turkey and Cheddar Lunchables and Kashi Flax Seed and Almost breakfast bars

2.) Being a stay at home mom is HARD. Seriously, it is the hardest job I have ever had, but is by far the most rewarding job in the whole world.

3.) You will get man arms. Really.. you should see these guns. After lugging out my chunky monkey in his carrier, I now have bigger arm muscles than my husband.

4.) I can never have enough burp rags. I probably have at least 20, but I still find myself buying more

5.) Never buy the bulk package of diapers. They will outgrow them in less than a week and need the bigger size

6.) How hard breastfeeding was and how discourging it was when I could not produce enough. The cost of formula goes hand in hand with this. It is like gold. I get so upset even I spill a little on the counter. I am counting down the months until Bennett will be drinking cows milk!

7.) I talk in baby talk all the time. Even my 2 dogs think I am crazy when I start talking to them like I do Bennett

8.) Laundry is a never ending cycle

9.) My hair is in a permanent pony tail. The second I take it down, it is gripped between baby fingers

10.) Never wear black. You will get spit up on.

11.) Never leave home without the diaper bag and a bottle. Even if you go on a 5 minute trip to get gas. Trust me. You could get a dead battery and be stranded.

12.) No matter how many toys I buy, Bennett is the most amused by mommy and daddy.

Happy baby!

Once again a quick brag from this mama.. I have had the happiest baby seriously all day long! I cannot believe it!

Please note, I was at my dad's today and I was telling him how we sing "splish splash I was taking a bath" every night Bennett bathes and he loves it. I started singing it to him and he starting laughing hysterically! I had him in my lap and he was throwing his head back and just giggling. I caught the end of it on camera. Too cute! He has been laughing out loud all day long! We have had quite a few giggles here and there, but he never laughs this long!

Yummy!!

Bennett tried cereal plain and HATED it so mama added some banana to it and this is the response we got. It's like he has been eating food off a spoon his whole life! If you didn't give him the next bite in what felt like .0325 seconds he would get fussy and grab the spoon from you and try to feed himself. It was so funny! He was so upset when mama said he had enough. Safe to say we are going to be a messy eater. Daddy says you take after mama ;)

I was going through my drawers yesterday and completely forgot I had my Kindle Fire. (since I haven't had time to read in 4+ months) I got on it and looked for some kids apps and found a ton! Bennett loved it! This will be going in the car with us when we go to Corpus this month, Midland next month, and Corpus again in December! I hope it is drool proof! No seriously, he drooled all over the screen. I need to stop by best buy and get a screen protector lol  I have my dvd screen in my car, but he is not able to see it just yet since he is in a rear facing car seat.

4 Month Stats!!

Weight - 16lbs even - 70th percentile
Length 26.5 inches long - 92.5 percentile!

We have a healthy/long boy! I knew he had gotten longer - we are barely in 6 month clothes and are in some 9 month pj's! They are still a little too big, but I know by next month they will fit!

Nanny (my sister in law Natalie) called me this morning and said he was putting her car in the shop and if I could come pick her up so she isn't sitting up there all day. I said YES! It was wonderful to have someone help me with Bennett at the doctor! He got a little fussy, it was way past his naptime. Of course, he screamed his heart out when he got his shots but by the time we left he calmed down. I couldn't believe it! He slept the whole way home, woke up at 1 to eat and went right back to sleep. He is still asleep now.. if he is not up by 4 I will wake him up. I had to make his 6 month appointment, I can't believe the end of November he will be 6 months! ;okgkdfgdf!

We also are all ready to start on food! We will see how this goes.. She said if he has sensitive tummy we can start with rice cereal for a week or so, but if not try some different fruit/veggies and do 4 servings of each before switching. She said babies are born with a natural liking for sweets so that whole thing I thought about feeding them veggies before fruits or else they will not like veggies is not true. Good to know! I think I am still like that! I'll take sweets over veggies any day ;)

Under a dark cloud

of allergies! I have not been feeling well this whole week!! The night before last, Bennett was up on the hour every hour sneezing his little head off :( I thought for sure I got him sick. After being up since 5:00am, I finally got him down until almost 9:00am, and then he went right back down for a nap and ended up sleeping over 2 hours. Safe to say I think he needed the rest. He was doing much better yesterday afternoon and I finally woke up today with a clear head, eyes and nose! Woohoo! ...knock on wood! I was so scared he would have gotten sick and would not be able to get his vaccines today. My friend Amanda had invited us to a mommies group and I was so excited to go, but if Bennett was sick, I did NOT want him spreading his germs to any other babies. Hoping they have another get together soon and we can make it!

We go at 10:00am to the doctor today and this time daddy is not able to make it. Bennett never does well with any of his shots. Last time I carried him out of the office and he was screaming bloody murder. His little legs where they stuck him get so sore that if you even rubbed it he wouldd start a crying episode. And then comes the fever. He always gets a fever and has with every shot he has gotten. Mama is prepared this time. We have the childrens tylenol out on the counter and he will get a warm bath as soon as we get home to help calm his nerves and hopefully help his leg from getting too sore. I will update his page on his stats! Bennett was 15lbs 4 oz a month ago.. Hmm.. I think he will be 26inches long and 18lbs! We will see!

Until then, I will leave you with this picture :) He is really starting to LOVE his bouncer Aunt Krys and Uncle Christopher got him! He loves bouncing, still not crazy about the toys on it. He would much rather hold his burp rag.

4 months new!

Baby boy... you are 4 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm a little late) I know I saw this every month but I CANNOT believe how fast the time is truly flying baby. I am so thankful for everything you have brought into our lives. You truly brought a new form of love into our home. I feel that our family is now complete that you are here. We are finally getting over the crying (unless your sleepy) and have been seeing smiles all day, every day! It is the best feeling in the world when we look at you and you give us this huge toothless grin. You have even learned to POUT! If we are at the store and I look away to grab something off the shelf, you stick your bottom lip out and your eyes get all watery! One day I went to drop you off at Nana's and I swear the second I walked in, you knew I was leaving. It was the saddest thing in the world!

You love love love to eat your hands and suck your thumb. You somehow manage to have your paci and suck your thumb at the same time! Every day you make new noises. You started talking yourself to sleep, it is the cutest thing in the world. We have not discovered our feet yet, but I know you will soon. You still despise tummy time more than anything in the world. You are so great at grabbing toys (and eating them)

You grabbed your bottle yesterday and actually held it by yourself for a good 3-4 minutes! You amaze us every day! We don't know your 4 month stats yet because your appointment isn't until Thursday, but I have a feeling we may be down from the 83 percentile for weight! You have thinned out, but gotten a little taller! We will see!

Mama took part of your 4 month pictures at Katy City Park. You were a grumpalump the whole time!

Our first "cool" front came this week - you were ready for it!

You are such a happy baby!

Holding your bottle!

We went to Mary Jo Peckham park this week, you loved it!

And you laughed the WHOLE time on the swing!

Now onto mama... I am praying allergies have come and bitten me in the butt.. but I am afraid I am getting sick. This weekend was my first day at work.. and EVERY ONE was sick! Ugh!! There was fevers, flu, and bronchitis! Please say a prayer!
