Woohoo!!

Yesterday I went to change baby boy's diaper... and his umbilical cord had fallen off!!! Finally!! :)

We are enjoying our last 2 days having daddy home :( Ted, Cindi and Miles are getting ready to come by to see Bennett! Looking forward to just relaxing today and maybe rent a movie tonight! (If Bennett allows) ;) I am so excited for father's day tomorrow! Daddy got part of his present last night - 2 cases of his yucky Guinness beer :)

Mommy has to run errands today so he will be hanging out with daddy!

2 weeks new!

Happy 2 weeks to baby B!!! He would NOT cooperate for his 2 week picture this morning so this is all we got -

He gained 4 ounces at his doctor appointment this week and has grown almost an inch!! He has out grown his babies r us onsies but his Carter and Gerber stuff fit perfectly! I will probably pull out his 0-3 month clothing next week :( It seems we have some what of a schedule! He has slept between 6-7 hours every night and daddy let's mommy take a 2 hour nap during the day :) I'm doing better, still hurting but not nearly has bad as last week! I went on a cleaning spree and over did it this morning. Pulling weeds in my flower beds will have to wait until tomorrow. We started on his baby book today, and hoping to go through all the hospital paperwork tonight. I LOVE not having heart burn and back/rib pain any more! It is so weird! I still sleep with my pillow on my side and cannot sleep on my stomach - it just feels too weird. I'm excited for Father's day this weekend and daddy's first special day :) I also can annouce that I can fit into all of my pre preggo clothes again!! Woop! Only took 2 weeks! I still have the "line" down my stomach but hoping that goes away soon!

Routine?

What does that mean??? We are desperately trying to implement a routine since daddy is going back to work next Monday.. but that just does not seem possible! It just depends on what mood Bennett is in - typically he is wide awake from anywhere between 2:00-5:00am. I'm not giving up just yet! :) He gets a sponge bath every other night, and seems to cry the most when it is time to dry him off - during the bath itself he is okay! We are convinced our baby is a genius. Day 1 he grabbed his paci and put it in his mouth by himself. Adam and I looked at each other in disbelief. By day 2 he was already picking his head up up by himself and trying to look around!

We are trying to get used to sleep deprivation... LOL Adam jumped out of bed the other day and yelled "DID HE JUST SAY MILK?!?!" I asked him.. umm did who just say milk? He said BENNETT!!! lol I reassured him Bennett did not say milk and he fell back asleep. I put my hair brush in the kitchen drawer, febreeze in the kitchen pantry, and he put canned tomato sauce and a bag of rice in the fridge. We are going a little crazy over in the Painter house hold.

Baby boy was up at 6:30 in a grouchy mood this morning (I'm convinced he knows he has a doctors appointment today hehe) but he is past out in his swing now with a clean diaper and a full tummy. I am so anxious to find out his weight!!

We already weny through 96 diapers in less than a week so daddy made a run to Babies R Us and came home with this play mat for baby B! He thinks it makes a good nap time mat ;)

I also meant to post something last week - Congratulations to Amanda and Matthew on the arrival of baby Carter Ryan!! (Small world - we were getting discharged from hospital and Adam ran into Matthew at labor and delivery - she had Carter the day after me and we were both in the same hospital!) She had a less than pleasant pregnancy and labor so we are all so happy that baby Carter is perfectly healthy and so is mama!!

Here's to Carter and Bennett becoming great friends just like their daddy's and tons of future play dates!

1 week new!

Hello world!! I am 1 week old today!!!!

Baby boy is doing great!! First appointment went okay, could have been better. His jaundice is doing much better. We have our routine lay out session at 7:30am on the couch (when the sun shines through), but - baby boy was down to 6lbs so we have to implement formula - I did NOT want to do this but don't want my baby boy losing any more weight. I am not producing enough milk yet so I have been pumping, making formula bottles and breast feeding!

We are "trying" to get a schedule down with feedings every 3 hours after breast milk and every 4 hours after a formula bottle. He sleeps the best at nights when he gets a sponge bath! Last night he finally went down at 11:40, woke up at 2:15, back to sleep at 2:50 and up at 6:00am. I'll take it!

He makes the funniest facials EVER!! I feel like we know him so much already. He seems to be more alert every day, and sleeps best during the day. He LOVES his swing and snuggling on your shoulder. We are soaking up every minute of having daddy home through next week! I know after he goes back to work, it is going to be tough. We go back to doctor on Monday to check baby boy's weight! Will post later when I find time! :)

4 Days New! Benett Sy has arrived!

Bennett Sy is here and he is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He got a 9.9 on his Apgar score and we couldn't be more happy and in love with this little miracle. He is gorgeous! 6lbs 12oz and a whopping 20.5 inches long! We have our first doctor's appointment tomorrow and newborn photos on Wednesday. We are sleep deprived. Last night we got between 4-5 hours but it has been 1-2. He is going to get his first sponge bath today too!

Labor was not fun at all! Wednesday night my contractions were 3 minutes apart and I could not take it anymore so we went to labor and delivery. Luckily - my doctor was at the hospital at 11:30pm!! I was still stuck at 3cm and 90% effaced. I was admitted and ging to get monitored through the night. It took ambian and fenergen to get me to sleep through contractions. By the time morning came around and medicine wore off, I was in so much pain. Doctor came by, I was completely effaced and still stuck at 3cm dilated (My stupid leep procedure made my cervix just stay there) My doctor broke my water around 10:00am and we were told he wold be here by end of day! I thankfully got my epidural around 11 and felt amazing!!! All I talked about was how I wanted a sonic bacon cheese burger with no tomatoes. My amazing sister in law had one waiting for me right after I had Bennett!

Around 12:30 I got checked and was already 7cm dilated - baby was coming and much quicker than doctor's thought!! Doctor came back to check me at 1:55ish and said it's time to push!! Bennett was born at 2:13 pm! I was up walking around 45 minutes after birth (my epidural wore off during labor)

I ended up hemorrhaging after labor and had to get quite a bit ot stiches. I thought I would feel great after birth, boy was I wrong. Pretty much on bed rest again and can only lift Bennett and that's it.

3cm / 70%

I made progress!!  In 1 week I gained another CM and am now 70% effaced. Baby is officially ready and can be here at ANY time now!!

Sweeping membranes - most miserable thing of my life! Definitely worse than getting 100+ biopsies done on my cervix! My doctor didn't warn me, which I guess is a good thing. Freaked the hubby out bad! Almost brought me to tears! When we got home I was in so much pain it was hard to tell what if I was having a contraction or not because I was in constant pain. It has subsided some now and I can definitely tell when I am having one. Nothing regular yet - 4-8-10 minutes apart. Hoping this pays off and he will be here tonight or in the morning!

If not, I COULD possibly stay at 3cm until next week when we get induced.. ugggh!! Pray it works!!

Summer living!

Friday the hubby and I had our last date night! We had Cucos (along with horrible heart burn), ice cream from our favorite little ice cream shop and watched a movie! It was very much needed! Saturday we ran errands, got me a kiddy pool a float to catch some sun (because I refuse to go to a community pool pregnant) and I got sun burned! Leo enjoyed the pool with mommy too..

Saturday night I had consistent contractions for 2+ hours that were 7 minutes apart! We thought for sure he was coming, but of course not! Allie and Sac dropped by before they went out (I can't wait until we can go out again), but it was good to see them and hear about baby Bryn! Yesterday we had decided last minute to have the fam over, play some corn hole and grill some hot dogs!! We had a blast even though it was hotter than heck outside! Got our last HEB run in today before baby comes and have dinner plans with Bob and Megan here in a little bit! I am looking forward to relaxing a bit tomorrow before my dreaded doctor's appointment.

Hubby is taking off early tomorrow and taking me to my doctor's appointment. This is the first one he will make since I was 17 weeks pregnant and we found out we are having a boy! I wish I was that excited about this one. I am going to get my membranes sweeped. I blacked out at my last biopsy from the pain (and drove myself there and was stuck at doctor's for awhile) so he is coming in case I faint again and I am not supposed to drive home after this. Good news is- My cousin Kristin had this done and went into labor at the doctor's office and my other cousin Ashley had it done and went into labor around midnight that night - so we are expecting baby boy here by Wednesday!! (If it works - which I think it will!) so this might be my last blog for a little while but I will be sure to post once things are not as crazy and we get settled in with Bennett!

Well hubby and I went walking last night around 7:30, had some contractions and by 9 they completely stopped!! Ugh!!! Got up at 5:30 with him and when he left for work I left for the mall and walked 2 miles. My back and tummy is killing me so we will see! Fingers crossed..
