Cool Sculpting

So I have been struggling to lose those last 5lbs of baby weight and want that "pooch" gone for good!

Now that I am working again, I have ZERO time to work out. By the time I get home from daycare, Bennett takes a quick nap, I wash the bottles, start laundry, dinner, clean, then feed Bennett, play with him, give him a bath, get him down for the night, shower and then it's bed time for me. Then it's back at it again the next day at 5:30am!

I heard about this fairly new procedure called Cool Sclupting on the news and doctor oz. It is 100% non invasive and for fairly skinny people, especially recent mom's who want their tummy back to being flat.

It's over half the price of Lipo, non invasive and no down time. You will see your full results in no more than 8 weeks. I go next Friday and am getting 3 treatments, both of my hips and my stomach. It was buy two get a free session so I will go back and get my stomach done again in late February.

It is approved by FDA and Harvard actually created the technology. A machine sucks your fat in and holds it for an hour. It then freezes your far.Your skin is completely safe from the cold machine. They take it off after an hour, massage the area and you are good to go. The machine freezes your fat cells and they turn into crystals. Your body will then flush out the crystals (which is why it takes up to 8 weeks). It is like Liposuction in the aspect that those fat cells will be gone forever! Woohoo! This means, if and when we have another baby, I will not gain that much fat in my abdomen. I am so excited to get this done and can't wait to feel great about my body again! :)

Roller Coaster Ride

Life has been insane this past week. Friday my dad had his broncoscopy and we are almost positive he does not have cancer! The mass was scar tissue! I believe the stress from his procedure weighed hard on his body and Friday night he could not breathe. After 45 minutes of him not being able to breathe, I left Bennett with daddy and headed to my moms. As soon as I saw how bad of shape my dad was in, I called 911 immediately. The paramedics were there within 2 minutes. He was having a really bad panic attack (since he couldn't breathe) and was terrified if the paramedics moved him to the gurny (sp?) he would die. After 30 minutes of reassuring him he would be okay, he finally let them carry him to the gurny. It was off to the ER we went. They put him in ICU around 3:00am Friday night. He was finally moved down to a regular room Saturday around 9:00pm.

Then, we discovered he tested positive for a really bad illness. They immediately put him in isolation. Bennett, myself and my mother had to get tested and meet with Harris County Health and Human Services (the hospital had to report the positive test to the county) We met with the health official again yesterday and we were all 3 negative! I was not allowed to go to work and Bennett was not allowed to go to daycare until we received our results. I have been working from home with a 7 month old. A lot harder than I thought it would be!

They did 2 mucus tests on my dad (another way to test for this illness) and the first one was negative!! We are still waiting on the second one and they are also doing a culture which will be the true test to determine if he really does have it. Until then, he is on a handful of antibiotics and harris county has to come my moms house every day to administer the medicine for 14 days. Usually 2 weeks on antibiotics this illness is not contagious anymore.

Needless to say, Bennett and I will be staying away from Nana and Papa's until we figure out what is wrong with him. If all these tests are negative, then he still will have to back to the infectious disease doctor to determine what he has.

Since Bennett has been in contact with my dad he will have to get a chest x-ray which is required from Harris County for any children who have been exposed under the age of four (yes, even if his test was negative)

Could use some prayers that my dad does not have this illness and Bennett can go back to seeing Nana and Papa soon :( It has been a LONG week!

R.I.P. Jared

This morning I got a call from my mother in law telling me my husband's cousin Jared was in a horrible accident in Katy last night. He was life flighted to Houston, where he lost his life this morning. :(

I am sending my love and prayers to his mom Ethel, his sister Stacy, Stacys children Skyler, Raegan and Lindy, and the rest of my husband's family. Jared was only 28 years old.

Bennett stayed with Granma the Wednesday and Thursday after Christmas because we both had to work :( Wednesday his cough was horrible again. So off to the doctor he went...for the 3rd time!! My mom took him and I said you do not leave until they give him something! He started waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air... It TERRIFIED me! They finally put him on a stronger dosage of amoxicilin. (We still have the cough but we are working on getting better)

The wedding was beautiful, but it was just a bad bad bad trip for us. Bennett cried 2 of the 4 hours to Corpus. He started screaming at the rehearsal dinner so we had to leave before eating dinner. He woke up crying 10+ times Friday night. Saturday morning we went to Cracker Barrell because we were starving. Bennett started screaming in the restaurant so we left without eating - but oh yes we paid for our food. He stayed with dad after the cracker barrell incident so I could go get my hair done for the wedding. It took him two hours of Bennett crying to finally get him down for a nap. He slept on and off up until the wedding. He needed it that's for sure!

Adam and I both were in the wedding so Bennett hung out with my Aunt Carol. After about 2 minutes of the ceremony Bennett started talking away. Carol made a dash to the back with him and he was okay after that! He was good for the reception. He was up WAY passed his bedtime. He LOVED watchin everyone on the dance floor and they had this discoball with different colored lights that he was completely amazed by. We got back to the hotel around 10:00pm, put him in his pj's and he was asleep within 10 seconds! lol

Baby's first Christmas 2012

Well now that it is officially 2013, I think it's time I post about Christmas!  Bennett made out like a bandit!

Christmas Eve (after making one separate trip just for Bennett's presents) we headed to Granma Debbie's house! We had yummy tamales and snack foods an opened up presents (except Santa of course) Bennett only opened two that night. Poor baby was soo tired. He hates his pack and play and would not go to sleep so we made him a pallet on the floor. He was still up most of the night because of his yucky upper respiratory virus :( He had a blast opening up presents Christmas morning! He was a pro at eating tissue and ripping the ribbon and bows off presents.

After that, we ran home and got some warmer clothes because a cold front was coming! We went back to Granma Debbie's for Christmas dinner! By the time we home, there were 30-40mph winds and it was SOOO COLD! And of course - our power went out. We started the fireplace (thank the lord for a gas fireplace) and cuddled around the fire for a few hours and finally it came back on!

ALL three of us are sick! :( Tonight we are going to a candlelight service with Adam's family then doing presents tonight and Santa tomorrow morning.  Last minute decision is to spend the night with Adam's family since tomorrow is supposed to rain cats and dogs! I do not want to get baby boy out in that weather. After the rain stops, we will head to my parents and then back to Adam's moms for dinner. Friady we leave to Corpus for my brother's wedding.. whew.. i'm tired already! Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Tis' the season...

So life has been crazy like usual and I am slacking on my blog.. like usual :)

We are officially in the Christmas spirit in the Painter house hold! Almost all presents are wrapped and under the tree! We had Adam's family white elephant party at Aunt Ellen's 2 weeks ago - it was a blast! It had been almost a year since we had seen his whole family. Last week Bennett had a cough Tuesday and Wednesday, by Thursday he sounded just awful. He kept waking up in the middle of the night choking on the crud in his throat. I got him into the doctor Thursday and found out it a respriatory infection. He is too young for cough syrup so we elevated the bed, have the humidifier on blast and vicks on his feet. We ended up going to the hospital.. more to come below.

 

Saturday night we had Adam's company Christmas party at my favorite - Maggiano's Little Italy. It was fun and delicious! :) Sunday we just took it easy and watched football - what we all needed!

Now onto the not so fun news. My dad has his follow up appointment and they could not determine if it is cancer or not. They cannot do a biopsy because the doctor is fearful his lung will just collapse. Jan 4th they will do a broncoscopy (sp?). I have not done research into yet, I just know they will actually go in and see the mass. Keep your prayers going :(

Yesterday - Little Bennett had his first hospital experience.

He has had a cough for over a week now. We went to the doctor last week and was told there was nothing they can do - it is just an upper respriatory infection/virus. He seemed to be doing a little better this weekend and yesterday morning I noticed his cough was a little worse, but no fever so off to daycare he went. On the daycare cam yesterday at work I noticed they put him down for a nap around 8:20am, I thought hm.. that's kind of early for him. I checked back at 10:30 and he was still passed out - which is odd because he slept through the whole night. Around 12:30 daycare called and said I needed to come get him immediately and that he had 103 fever. I was terrified! I have never driven that fast before. I got to daycare in less than 5 minutes. When I got there the teachers had him stripped down to his diaper, he was covered in cold wash clothes and they were fanning him. Bennett looked just awful!! He was moaning, burning up and even sweating. I scooped him up and we ran home and got tylenol in him. By 2:00pm his doctor finally opened back up from lunch, but all 5 doctors were booked for the day. After giving his tyenol 1 hour to kick in he still had 102.8 fever so off to the hospital we went.

The nurse immediately heard him cough and said uh oh he is croopy. Ugh :( They checked his temperature, of course he still had a high fever so immediately gave him motrin. He was diagnosed with mild croop and a nasty virus. Which there is nothing we can do about it. :( By the time we left, baby was in a much better mood (motrin was kicking in) and he was fever free. By the  time we got out of the parking lot he was passed out. We let him sleep when we got home. I went through the pantry and searched his baby food for the highest amount of vitamin c so he got that last night and this morning. We still have the humidifer going 24-7, vicks on his feet and chest, bed elevated and have been giving him warm apple juice to break up the junk in his chest. If he is not better by tomorrow he will go back and be put on steroids to help the inflamation in his throat and possibly breathing treatments. He is at home with my sister in law today and so far, she said he seems to be feeling much better!

Gosh. I feel like I have been trying to write this blog all day.. I promise i will try to keep up with this thing!
